Quality Not Quantity

Our breeding goals are pretty simple, we breed for quality not quantity which is why we often do not have puppies available. Most breedings are planned to further my goals of a well socialized puppy with a solid temperament that has beauty and brains. We plan 1 to 2 breeding's per year and as much as we strive for dogs that will do well in the show ring, our preference for puppies that we do not keep for show is to find them that perfect forever home. We also feel that Poms in pet homes should look like Poms were meant too. All of our adult Poms are within the breed standard for size and we only breed colors recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club and Pomeranian Club of Canada.

Healthy Parents, Healthy Puppies
Each breeding at Tofini Poms is focused on health and temperament and parents are health tested prior to breeding. We are serious about health testing and can back up what we say as we see veterinary specialists and we file health results with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).

We follow Puppyculture and Avidog rearing protocols with all of our puppies as we want them to have the best start in life and be great companions first and foremost. As we keep a small number of dogs in our home, all Tofini pom puppies are raised underfoot and all dogs live in our home as pets, they are not housed in a kennel. We primarily breed for our self in hopes of creating that perfect show and performance Pom. We do not strive to populate the world with pet poms and therefore do not have a large number of breeding dogs nor do we breed many litters per year. All our puppies are well socialized, are taken to many places and come started on house and crate training.

Reputable

All Tofini puppies are CKC registered, vet checked, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, come with 4 or 6 weeks trial pet insurance and are sold on a non-breeding agreement. Adults will come desexed prior to placement. For vaccination scheduling we are running Titers/Nomographs thru the University of Wisconson Vet School on our moms so that we can better time when our puppies need vaccination and also to know when we can safely socialize them. For more information on nomographs and maternal immunity click here.

In order to keep our numbers low and provide our dogs with one on one attention, we will occasionally have an older pom available for a home where they will be the center of attention when they are retired from breeding. These girls, who are often champion producers or champions themselves, are spayed before placement, and placed in homes which will be suited to their individual temperaments.

Availability

Even though we may only have puppies available once or twice per year we pre-screen homes and prefer to have our puppies placed with those that have put in the effort to keep in touch. We do not take deposits on newborns or unborn puppies and we rarely advertise puppies for sale.
